ABOUT SLNCE:
The Saheed Laxman Nayak Competitive Exam Centre (SLNCEC), established in the year 2023, is a landmark initiative aimed at transforming the lives of aspiring civil servants in Koraput, Odisha. Situated in one of the most aspirational and geographically challenging districts of the state, SLNCEC has emerged as a beacon of hope and opportunity for youth who have long been underserved in terms of access to quality educational resources.
Formally registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 (Regd. No: KPT-5642-19/2025), SLNCEC offers completely free coaching for competitive examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). By removing the burden of financial constraints, the centre aims to create a level playing field where merit, dedication, and hard work are the only requirements for success.
This initiative was conceived and brought to life through a unique collaborative effort involving the District Administration of Koraput, Elected Public Representatives, the Central University of Odisha, and several committed social workers and educators from the local community. Together, these stakeholders recognized the pressing need to uplift the socio-economic condition of the region by investing in its most valuable asset — its youth.
The centre is named in honor of Saheed Laxman Nayak, a revered tribal freedom fighter and martyr from Odisha, who played a significant role in India’s independence movement. His unwavering courage, commitment to justice, and service to society form the moral compass of the institution. SLNCEC is deeply inspired by his life and legacy, and strives to instill these values in every student who walks through its doors.
At SLNCEC, the mission goes beyond exam preparation. The centre aspires to nurture a generation of ethical, informed, and empathetic leaders who will serve the nation with integrity and vision. The coaching program is not just academic in nature — it includes personality development, interview training, mentorship sessions with civil servants, and motivational talks to build the overall capacity of each aspirant.
Moreover, SLNCEC places a strong emphasis on inclusive and equitable education. Special attention is given to students from marginalized backgrounds, Scheduled Tribes (ST), Scheduled Castes (SC), and economically weaker sections of society, ensuring that everyone is given the opportunity to dream big and work towards achieving it.
In just a short span of time, SLNCEC has begun to reshape the aspirations of hundreds of young minds from remote blocks and villages in Koraput district. With a clear vision, strong community support, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the Saheed Laxman Nayak Competitive Exam Centre stands poised to become a model for rural academic empowerment , Koraput district in Odisha.
